PROGRAMS IN CHICAGO

2014 DePaul Summer Enrichment Program:
Students seeking an intensive English immersion experience may take classes in Academic English, while exploring the architectural legacy and ethnic communities of Chicago. Courses offer students the opportunity to practice listening and speaking skills, develop their presentation skills, discover their own national community’s place in Chicago and much more.

Program details:
– Summer Enrichment Program consists of two short courses.
Time: 30/07/2015 -----21/08/2015
– Classes meet Monday through Friday from 10:45 a.m. to 2:45 p.m., 15 class hours per week
– This is a non-credit, academic English program
– Program includes special excursions and field trips providing students the opportunity to apply their in-class learning as they experience the city of Chicago
* DePaul University’s academic calendar is based on the quarter system.
4.5 quarter hours = 3 semester hours. It is the students’ responsibility to confirm the transferability of credits with their home institution.
– Summer 2015 courses will be viewable online in late January, registration begins mid-February.
Fee: ≧8 Students: 5380 Dollars per student. ﹤8 Students 6500 Dollars per student.
The following items are included in the fee:
1. Airport arrival and pickup
2. Orientation program
3. Immigration document support and advising
4. Two five-week academic courses (courses are 4.5 credits each)
5. Housing at UCC (it is DePaul’s dormitory downtown, near the business school)
6. Meal plan
7. Transit pass (this is a pass so students can ride the subway and buses unlimited for free)
8. Workshops on topics of interest for the group may include: Intercultural Communication, Job Search Strategies in the US, Understanding US Culture, Business Etiquette, etc.
9. Excursions in the city of Chicago based on group interests. For example, architectural tours, concerts in the park, visits to museums, Chicago sporting event, or other excursions.
